Outline of Main Duties and Responsibilities

Once selected, a Teller at NBP will be expected to carry out the following key responsibilities:

  • Receive cash from the Branch Operations Supervisor and manage denominations for cashier and sorting functions
  • Provide deposit and account-related services to customers
  • Facilitate utility bill payments, government receipts, and agency-based collections
  • Ensure proper cash vault management and key holding as per Bank SOP
  • Forward cheques beyond assigned limits to the Branch Operations Manager for authorization
  • Disburse PKR and FCY cash only after cheques are posted in the system
  • Count, sort, and match cash as per SBP directions with deposit slip details entered in the system
  • Handle currency exchange requests and guide customers to the relevant staff
  • Maintain high customer service standards and ensure compliance within the Turn Around Time (TAT)
  • Prepare and maintain the Cash Book and conduct day-end checks against system-generated reports
  • Balance cash vouchers and post all cash-related transactions in the system
  • Cross-sell bank products and inform customers about new services and promotions
  • Ensure fresh cash is available over the counter as per SBP directives
  • Identify and report any unusual or suspicious cash flow activity to Branch Operations Manager
  • Ensure the General Ledger accounts are periodically reconciled and balanced with actual records
  • Handle ATM replenishment on an as-needed basis and ensure ATM functions during weekends and holidays
  • Rectify audit findings related to cash management
  • Ensure Shariah compliance
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor
